Pune Creates History with Guinness World Record During Ganesh Festival
Pune, September 3, 2025 – In a historic and spiritually uplifting event, Pune has officially broken the previous Guinness World Record held by the Uttar Pradesh Government created on the banks of Sarayu River, Ayodhya by hosting the “Most People Performing Diya Rotations Simultaneously” with 1724 count. This remarkable achievement took place during the vibrant celebrations of the Ganesh Festival and has brought immense pride to Maharashtra.
Led by Shri Sagar Ulhas Dhole Patil, Chairman of Dhole Patil Education Society (DPES), the record-breaking event was held at the DPES campus in Kharadi, Pune. A total 1724 participants, all women, came together in devotion, simultaneously performing the Lord Ganesh Aarti with traditional diyas (oil lamps). The event saw enthusiastic participation from Indian and International students, faculty, and local devotees.
The presence of Mr. Swapnil Dangrikar, Senior Adjudicator from Guinness World Records, added to the significance of the occasion. After careful verification, the official Guinness World Record Certificate was presented to Shri Sagar Ulhas Dhole Patil, marking a proud moment for the city and DPES.
As devotees came together in a unified prayer to Lord Ganesh, the remover of obstacles, the event became a powerful symbol of global unity, spreading a message of hope, harmony, and healing.
