Turbo Machines Laboratory
Objectives: The major experiments in this lab are done to study different types of turbines, Pump and their characteristics such as RPM, Pressure, Flow rate, Load etc. Students can strengthen their basic understandings of working and applications of turbo machines.
Context: Turbo Machines describes machines that transfer energy between a rotor and a fluid, including both turbines and compressors. While a turbine transfers energy from a fluid to a rotor, a compressor transfers energy from a rotor to a fluid. This lab comprises Impulse Turbine, Reaction Turbine and Centrifugal pump on which experiments are conducted to calculate the efficiency.
Equipment list: Pelton Turbine, Francis Turbine & Centrifugal pump.
