Workshop On Building LLMs from First Principles
About session:
Under the esteemed guidance of our Honorable Chairman Shri Sagar Dhole patil Sir and Respected Principal Dr. Abhijit Dandavate Sir, and Hod Dr.Vishvas Kalunge Sir the Department of Computer Engineering has successfully conducted a two-day workshop titled “Building LLMs from First Principles” on 25th and 26th February 2026. The workshop aimed to provide participants with a strong foundational understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and their practical implementation from scratch two days hands on workshop On Building LLMs from First Principles.
The objective of the workshop was to introduce students to the fundamentals of Large Language Models (LLMs) and their role in modern Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing. During the session, students were guided through the basic concepts behind language models, including data preparation, model training, and the working principles of LLMs.
The workshop also included practical demonstrations where students explored how language models are developed from basic principles and how they are used in real-world applications such as chatbots, text generation, and intelligent systems. Students actively participated in the session and gained hands-on exposure to emerging AI technologies.
Outcome of the Workshop:
