Testing of Materials Laboratory

Objectives:
1) Material testing laboratory helps for selecting and verifying materials and to evaluate material quality, performance, troubleshooting, research and many other applications.
2) This lab enables students to carry various experiments regarding compressive strength of concrete, tensile strength of concrete, workability test, design mix, modulus of rupture of concrete. All these experiments are intended to determine the quality of concrete.

Context: The building materials like cement, concrete reinforcement, bricks, mortars and steel etc are being tested in this lab. Construction and building materials provides essential information about the materials that help effectively to link theory with practical knowledge and application. The concrete laboratory provides extensive practical knowledge to students so as to make them confident in the preparation and testing of concrete like slump test, compaction test, and compressive strength at different ages and to cast slabs, beams etc

Equipment:
Le-Chatteliers Apparatus, Vicat’s Apparatus, Sieve Shaker, Aggregate Crushing Value Apparatus, Vibrating Table, Compaction Factor Test Apparatus, Slump Cone, Compression Testing Machine, Compression Testing Machine, Impact Testing Machine, Torsion Testing machine, Flexural Testing Machine, Abrasion Testing Machine
