Purpose: Enrich cultural knowledge, support learning in Indian history, architecture, and storytelling through immersive technology
- Introduction:
A one-day educational-cum-cultural visit was organized for students of Computer Engineering, to Shivsrushti, located at Ambegaon, Pune. The main objective of this visit was to enrich students’ understanding of Maharashtra & rich cultural heritage, especially the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, through immersive visual and experiential learning.
- About Shivsrushti:
Shivsrushti is a grand theme park and historical exhibition built in honor of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, envisioned by the renowned historian Babasaheb Purandare. It aims to recreate the important events of Shivaji Maharaj’s life through life-size models, 3D exhibits, light-and-sound shows, and storytelling displays.
Key attractions include:
- Fort models (Raigad, Pratapgad, Sinhagad)
- Life-size statues of Shivaji Maharaj and his associates
- Interactive exhibits depicting coronation, war strategies, and administrative systems
- Thematic galleries on battles, naval power, and diplomacy
- Audio-visual shows on Shivaji’s inspiring leadership and vision
- Objectives of the Visit:
- To gain insight into the Maratha history and administrative system.
- To understand the strategic military genius of Shivaji Maharaj.
- To promote cultural awareness and historical pride among students.
- To experience a realistic representation of 17th-century Maharashtra through models and storytelling.
- To foster team-building and collaborative learning outside the classroom.
- Activities Undertaken:
- Guided Tour: A professional guide explained every exhibit in detail, including Shivaji’s early life, struggle against Mughals, forts, and warfare.
