Mahatma Jyotirao Govindrao Phule Punytithi was celebrated in DPCOE

Mahatma Phule “Punytithi” is his death anniversary and it is annually held on November 28, 2018. In 2017, it is the 128th death anniversary of Mahatma Phule. Jyotirao at the age of 22 first taught reading and writing to his wife, Savitribai, and then the couple started the first indigenously run school for girls in Pune in 1848 & played an important role in women’s education in Maharashtra. So, in the remembrance of Mahatma Phule we celebrated his death anniversary in Dhole Patil College of Engineering, Pune.
