Birth anniversary of Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule was celebrated on 3^rd January, 2019 at Dhole Patil College of Engineering, Pune with great enthusiasm. Principal Dr.Nihar Walimbe, all the HODs, teaching staff, non-teaching staff & the students of DPCOE were present on this occasion. The statues of Savitribai Phule, Mahatma Phule were garlanded by the Principal Sir.

Prof. Shrikant Jagtap delivered a short speech narrating the outstanding work of Savitribai Phule, who was the first teacher of the Girls’ school started in Pune by Mahatma Phule. She faced many problems, but she did her work with great devotion & determination. The Pune University is now known as the Savitribai Phule Pune University. It is our duty to express our gratitude towards both Mahatma Phule & Savitribai Phule who laid the foundation stone of women’s education, against all odds. The function was ended with the National Anthem.
